About Us

Our story began at Harvard Business School, where a group of students discovered they shared a common struggle: distance from family. They wanted a way to share photos with loved ones around the world, not merely on a phone screen but on a lovely physical display that could sit in a parent’s or grandparent’s home. When they found no such product existed, they set out to build it themselves. That effort became Skylight, created from the beginning to bridge digital and non-digital life and to bring together families separated by many miles.

As the team talked with customers about what families truly needed, a broader purpose emerged. They saw a chance to help people simplify daily life so they could spend more time with the people who matter most. This led to Skylight Calendar, a straightforward way to manage family schedules and routines. Thousands of households now rely on it to share events, keep up with chores, and keep family life running smoothly. The team keeps developing new solutions for families and is glad to have customers along on the journey. They believe Skylight will change how families and friends share moments, and they hope people enjoy the products as much as the team does.

The response has been overwhelming. Hundreds of thousands of families have brought Skylight products into their homes. The team often thinks about the many smiles they help create each day, and that sense of purpose drives their work. They have been expanding the team and refining the products so they can bring the magic of Skylight to as many families as possible. Today there are more team members than ever, all devoted to connecting loved ones, young and old. The team is excited to continue this journey and to welcome more people into the Skylight family.

Customers describe Skylight in warm terms. One person bought a frame to enjoy wedding photos in one place and now relives that special day every day. Another loves sharing pictures of her kids with several relatives at once without sending multiple texts or emails and risking forgetting someone. A third calls it an excellent addition to the living room that keeps fond memories scrolling. For one customer, sending a frame loaded with pictures to a stepmother was the best gift ever. Another family became seriously obsessed, starting with gifts for parents and grandparents and eventually purchasing seven frames. One person says it feels like visiting with family every day. Another calls it a high quality photo frame worth the money for organizing digital and photo clutter. A customer living with dementia says seeing pictures of family has made all the difference in keeping memories alive.
